Collette Priscilla, Manager - People experience, on her role and what she loves about life at IDP!

“In all my 17 years of experience at IDP, there has never been a dull day at work. I’ve enjoyed every single day at IDP, taken up various roles within the People experiences function, gained rich experiences and grown along with the organization.

I love the work environment here, and the very friendly teammates. I am always excited to go to work and one of the most important reasons for this, is my lovely team. We work hard together, and have a lot of fun together. I draw a lot of inspiration from my manager. She has been a pillar of support and has always motivated me to bring my best self to work. I feel empowered to explore and take up challenging opportunities, as my hard work and efforts are always valued, recognized, and appreciated.

I was the second employee who was hired for Hotcourses Chennai (now IDP Digital Campus, acquired by IDP Education). We were only a team of five members initially, and now we’ve grown into a big team of 600+ members. During this lovely journey, I’ve gotten married and have two wonderful kids now. The support I’ve received in every step of my IDP journey has been tremendous. I’ve always had the freedom to explore, upskill, advance in my career journey, and live a balanced life.

Having the opportunity to interact with all our lovely people at the Digital campus on a daily basis is what I love the most about my role, and I can proudly say that people feel comfortable reaching out to me for assistance and support. This personal connection that I’ve gained with our amazing people at the office, combined with the passion that I have for my role makes it a truly enjoyable journey at IDP. While those are the perks of handling administrative activities in the Digital Campus, I feel honored to also be a representative of the organization to candidates - sharing all the required information that they need and giving them a glimpse of IDP’s culture and core values. The positive feedback that I receive from candidates during the preboarding and onboarding sessions boosts my motivation further and reminds me that I am doing my job right.

To me, success is all about being able to advance, grow, and not feel stagnated in my career trajectory. At IDP, I’ve advanced and seen growth in all my 17 years of experience here. I’ve had access to all learning resources that were needed to upskill, and I am always looking forward to seeing what is in store and undertaking the next adventure. I joined as an Admin assistant, later undertook a few roles in Talent Acquisition, then moved into a Generalist People Experience role, and now working as a Manager – People Experience. It feels great to look back and see how I’ve grown from a graduate level to the role that I am playing today.

Fun Facts: Collette loves spending quality time with family. She loves her recently set up fish tank at home and spends an ample amount of time revamping it. She has also recently begun her plant parenting journey, and is thoroughly enjoying it.
