“Looking back – I can’t believe I’ve completed over 15 years in IDP already. My first step with IDP is still so fresh in my memory.
My IDP journey began as a Senior Developer Analyst. With my Oracle and Java development background, I was working on Hotcourses and schools net websites, before moving on to becoming a delivery lead helping develop around 13 Hotcourses international multilingual sites.
Next, came my role with the My IDP Connect system as a Project then Delivery Manager. And further down the road - owing to the immense knowledge I’d gained from my roles and projects, I was able to successfully take on my current role of Head of Delivery, wherein I handle delivery for projects for most of the IDP Connect line of business. I’m appreciative of all the growth opportunities that IDP has trusted me to handle, which have helped shape my career journey so beautifully over the years.
IDP has been a great platform where I’ve been able to develop innovative products with out of the box technologies. And IDP pushing my team and I in all the right ways to learn more and to do what we do a little bit better every day we step into work is the icing on the cake. Given we’ve had countless opportunities to upskill our knowledge and keep growing further in our journeys.

13 Hotcourses international sites
Management of the huge client portal system called My IDP Connect handling huge data sets for clients and internal users
Delivery of a huge set of advertisement options for all IDP Connect, IDP.com and IDP websites
Re-platforming of the Complete University Guide site to CUG 2.0 version with the League Table processing
Delivery of huge sets of direct client CRM integration which pass self-service leads to clients
Delivery of course cloud microservice which provides course data to all IDP systems
Delivery of the IDP Live client management system which handles entry requirement details
Delivery of client portal, Whatuni, Complete University and Postgraduate Search
Currently working on delivering the next generation Whatuni app and aiming to have this up by end of the financial year 2022
I look forward to delivering many more such innovative strategic products which help the IDP vision. And I’d add that the future of tech at IDP will be omnichannel products offering end to end solutions for customers, students and our IDP employees.
On working across such a variety of projects - I’ve enjoyed and learned so much from having had the opportunity to work with teams handling various sides of the business and from across the globe including:
Teams from the Digital Campus, Chennai - most of the IDP Connect Development team, Architects, Client Care, Data Team, and Product Team
Teams from the UK –the SEO Team, Digital Marketing Team, Digital Analytics Team, Content Team and Security Teams
But of course, having said all that - every journey in life has its ups and downs. And for me - having to undergo a surgery a few years back was a huge challenge I faced while having to manage project delivery. With the help of my manager’s fantastic support, however, I was able to navigate my way out of this difficult situation in perfect health and successfully deliver without a hitch.
To sum up- what I’d like to say to those of you just beginning or even midway on your tech career journey is that: IDP is a place of work like no other that offers plenty of opportunities to grow professionally as well as personally. I say this through my very own experience.
