17 January 2023"I could mention several reasons for why I love working at IDP, but what I love the most is that it gives me a sense of belonging and makes me feel like I am part of a big family. I believe that it is not just the business that gets someone out of bed to get to work, but it is the friendly atmosphere you have at the office and the people you work with. I am passionate about my role, and I thoroughly enjoy what I do at work. IELTS being the world’s renowned English language test has clear norms and regulations that has to be followed, and that gives me a sense of certainty and security that I believe everyone should have in their career.
I have completed four fabulous years at IDP now. I started working as an IELTS admin assistant and continued my journey as a Deputy Test Centre Administrator (TCA) from 2019 to July 2022. My role had then upgraded to TCA and now I’m managing two IELTS test centers in Turkey.
One of the primary factors that has enabled me to come to work everyday with the same level of energy and enthusiasm is the people here. I love the people I work with; they are all full of positive energy, highly solution oriented and always helpful. IDP and my manager (Seval Sir) have supported me plenty since the start of my career at IDP. I’ve learnt a lot of things – even the ones that I hadn’t realized about myself before.
Almost two years ago, I broke my arm and was unable to come to the office for at least a month. Team members from Istanbul – especially my line manager, and team members from Ankara were so thoughtful and supported our operations during that time. That experience still gives me goosebumps and had a huge effect on my professional personality. It was a clear sign of value and care from my peers, and I have high respect for all of them.

The sense of purpose that one gets at IDP is unrivalled. I believe that working with meaning means you are not just performing certain tasks while you are at work, but it has to have a greater purpose and must mean something more than just business. At IDP, I know that we are helping a lot of people reach their dreams – whether it is through IELTS or Student placement. It is a great honor to be part of this team, as I strongly connect to IDP’s bold vision and clear purpose of changing the world through global education. At IDP, we take pride in what we do, how we support each other and our contribution to our communities around the world.

Success means that you go to sleep every night happy with yourself and the work that you do. I am able to feel that at IDP.
Fun facts: I have a spoilt little (extremely pampered) golden retriever, named Oscar. I love video games and almost everything and anything about technology. Mostly, I am always inclined to learning and experimenting new things!" - Nazan Çalışır, Test Centre Administrator in Istanbul, Türkiye.
