"From Accounts Assistant to Finance Director - 11 years & counting with IDP!" - Taisija Turockina

From Accounts Assistant to the Finance Director of a global company, I would like to share with you my IDP journey. 

Passionate about education, new technologies, and personal growth, my mantra is to never stop learning. Originally from Lithuania, I spent four years as an international student in Germany at Augsburg University, where I studied business administration. Following graduation, I relocated to London, undertaking the AAT qualification and subsequently getting CIMA qualification while working full-time.   

I began my journey with experience in sales, production of conferences/events, and accounting practice getting a holistic understanding of business, management and finance.  

In July 2012, I joined IDP as an Accounts Assistant and have since then been promoted to Financial Accountant, Group Accountant, Group Financial Controller, and now - Finance Director. I am responsible for leading the regional finance team and working closely with the senior leadership and global finance teams to drive the business forward. I ensure that the company has the financial resources it needs to achieve its objectives, while also managing risks and ensuring compliance with regulations. I am thrilled to join the IDP Connect Senior Leadership Team and IDP Global Finance Leadership Team.  

Over the past 11 years, my journey has included significant involvement in pivotal projects, such as the acquisition and integration of Hotcourses (now IDP Connect) with IDP and global system change initiatives like procurement solutions. 

I have also had the opportunity to be a recipient of the Maher El Bakry Emerging Leaders Award – IDP’s flagship leadership and development program. As part of the program, I was able to take up an Agile Project Management course (sponsored by IDP). This experience played a pivotal role in my learning and growth journey at IDP.  

Along with this, the support and invaluable guidance of leadership have also immensely contributed to my career growth. A special thank you to my team for their support and to all the great mentors I had from IDP Global and senior leaders for their guidance.  

What a great journey this has been, and I look forward to many more years at IDP. The future looks exciting!
