MyIC (previously known as MyHotcourses, and even earlier referred to as Course Manager International) - A project which began with 2 developers - for which I was the front-end developer. Never did I think that MyIC would grow to the scale it has today. This has become our go-to tool for any data collection need – be it courses, articles, or profile content management.
IDP Live program –A highly ambitious project with a quick turnaround time, for which the technology stack and the team were all brand-new. I’m proud to have helped our tech team deliver this massive piece of work from conception till delivery. We continue to work on this program to further enhance it.
Some more interesting digital products we’ve built for internal and external customers across the Student Placement landscape that I handle - idp.com, the Study Abroad app, the Ask IDP app, HCI websites, C4C, yMarketing, Cvent, Core microservices, and more. There are many exciting things in the pipeline we look forward to, as well!
Looking back at my journey now - what I love and have loved the most about working at IDP - are our people and the freedom we’ve been given to make decisions - crucial and fundamental to succeeding in any role.
I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with many of our leaders - Neil Pearson, Priyatham Rajagopalan and Devi Muralidharan are a few of whom have influenced me largely and I’ve learned tremendously from over the years. And as a leader myself - I’ve loved being able to guide my team members to becoming successful in their roles as well.
Given that I’ve spent 15 years here, there have been some challenging times as well.
I’ve had some of my peers become my reports after my latest promotion, which made me realise that a great place to work is one where your team members are genuinely happy for your growth. And IDP truly is one – we support and enable each other’s growth at IDP as a team. This really makes a difference.
Overall – I encourage you to embrace every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. The formula I’ve used to find the best solutions in the face of any challenging situation is –staying calm, using my expertise in the best ways possible, and considering what value I’m going to be bringing our teams or customers with it.
I look forward to undertaking and delivering many more exciting new initiatives for IDP. As the world is opening back up again, I’m also eager to begin international travel to meet and collaborate in person with colleagues across the world we work with virtually every day.
