Following a global search, IDP Education has appointed Jennifer Fleming as its new Chief Strategy Officer.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience across multinational organisations, Jennifer joins IDP with a passion for education, customers, products, and the way these connect to transform people’s lives.

Tennealle O’Shannessy, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, IDP Education, said Jennifer was the ideal leader to drive IDP’s strategy and contribute to its next chapter.

“We are delighted to welcome Jennifer to IDP’s Global Leadership Team as our Chief Strategy Officer,” Tennealle said.

“Jennifer will guide our strategic direction in line with our purpose and vision, help us achieve our long-term goals, and drive our growth,” she said.

Prior to IDP, Jennifer held leadership positions with Medibank, the Victorian Government, ANZ, NAB, Lort Smith Animal Hospital and AT Kearney.

As a lifelong learner, Jennifer earned her MBA from the University of Arizona, completed a linguistics degree at the University of Virginia and has Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership accreditation. She recently completed studies in AI Implications for Business Strategy at MIT Sloan School of Management.

A dedicated volunteer, Jennifer has served as a volunteer director for several non-profit organisations, including HAGAR International, a Swiss-based NGO focused on supporting survivors of abuse.

Jennifer said she was drawn to IDP due to the organisation’s strong purpose, clear strategy, and the opportunity to help shape the future of the international education sector.

“I am thrilled to be joining IDP, an organisation I have long admired for its work in transforming lives through international education. As an industry, we have real opportunities to rethink how we deliver services to ensure we continue to support more people in more places to achieve their global goals,” she said.
