IDP Education’s commitment to workplace gender equality has been recognised by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE).

This is WGEA’s gold standard certification for employers who are committed to making positive, measurable improvements to gender equality in the workplace.

Tennealle O’Shannessy, IDP Education’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, said: “Over the past few years, IDP Education has taken meaningful action to ensure our workplace is inclusive, supportive and inspiring.

We fundamentally believe that the work we do to help people access international education and career opportunities contributes to creating a fairer, more equal world. IDP Education was one of the first 100 companies to pledge to the Diversity Council of Australia’s campaign against gender-based harassment and violence in all its forms. The issues of safety and respect are critical to the working environment we provide for our staff.

IDP Education is also a signatory to the 40:40 Vision, an initiative led by HESTA, designed to achieve gender balance in executive leadership across all ASX300 companies by 2030. We are well on our way to achieving our goal of 40 per cent of women on our Board of Directors by December 2023 and 40 per cent of women in our Global Leadership Team by 2027.

Promoting and improving gender balance in senior leadership through succession planning and effective recruitment has been equally important, as well as continuing our Elevate program, which develops and appoints IDP women to director roles on internal boards.

This recognition by WGEA acknowledges that IDP Education is taking meaningful action to improve the working lives of all our people and empowering them to thrive.”
