Envoy is an online test which assesses four language skills: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. It provides both English language teachers and students with a more personalised, engaging and enjoyable learning experience.
Born from IDP’s decades of experience and insights from thousands of students worldwide, Envoy is a next-generation English test which combines the expertise of linguists with advanced AI technology. It uses open-ended questions to assess and report on English language and communication skills in real life settings.
Envoy supports students at every stage throughout their English language journey. It can be used for diagnostic purposes for entry to a language learning program, to check progress as part of English language learning, or to assess overall proficiency at the completion of learning.
It accurately assesses students’ progress and enables teachers to tailor lesson plans to students’ needs as they improve their English proficiency and confidence. Testing can be completed in as little as 20 minutes for one skill or within 90 minutes for all four skills.
Results are aligned to the CEFR and are available to students and teachers within two hours. Envoy’s test engages students by prompting authentic responses, making it a valuable resource for learners at all levels.
Lauren Mcswain, Marketing Manager for Envoy said that the test combines AI and linguistic expertise to make English learning more personalised and enjoyable for both students and teachers.
“Envoy gives both students and teachers flexible testing and detailed insights explaining every test score,” said Ms Mcswain.
“Envoy is the result of IDP’s deep understanding of the global education community and the need for a flexible, cost-effective test for English language schools and other business needs.
“IDP will continue to leverage AI-powered technology to support and enhance human-centred services. With this next-generation English language test, Envoy will empower teachers to help every student realise their full potential.”
