This week, IDP Education announced changes to its Global Leadership Team that positions the company to deliver its strategy and help more people transform their lives through international education.

Simon Emmett, previously CEO of IDP Connect, has been promoted to the role of Chief Partner Officer and CEO, UK. In this new role, Simon will lead IDP’s partnerships with clients, industry stakeholders and the IELTS Partnership.

Piyush Kumar, Regional Director for South Asia, will take on additional responsibility for the Canada and Latin American regions.

The promotions follow the decision of Warwick Freeland, Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Director of IELTS, to retire at the end of the year.

Tennealle O’Shannessy, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, IDP Education, thanked Warwick for his contribution to IDP and congratulated Piyush and Simon on their promotions.

“I would like to acknowledge Warwick’s immense contribution to IDP and wish him the very best for his retirement,” Ms O’Shannessy said.

“Over 16 years, Warwick has delivered significant projects that have changed IDP and the services we deliver.

“I would also like to congratulate Simon and Piyush on their expanded roles. Both are exceptional leaders with deep experience leading teams across our global business.

“These strategic shifts align with our refreshed global strategy, positioning us for growth despite short-term challenges,” she said.

The changes are effective immediately.
