IDP and Flywire give 30 international students a headstart with 2026 Fly Higher Awards

IDP and Flywire build on longstanding partnership to award scholarships, fully funded by IDP, to international students around the world.

IDP Education and its global payment partner, Flywire Corporation, have opened entries for the 2026 Fly Higher Awards, offering 30 international students a US$3,000 boost as they take their first steps toward studying abroad.

Now in its second year, the program is open to eligible students who make an international payment through the Flywire platform between 1 June and 30 September 2026. The award can be put toward any study-related expense such as tuition, accommodation, health insurance, or the many smaller costs that come with relocating for an education.

Harmeet Pental, Chief Operating Officer at IDP Education, said the awards reflect how seriously the company takes its role once a student has made their decision to study internationally.

"We're with our students from the moment they start thinking about studying abroad to the day they arrive on campus and beyond," Mr Pental said.

"Students have told us that financial concerns and keeping up with day-to-day expenses in a new country are among the most common sources of stress they plan their overseas study. That's not something we take lightly.”

“The Fly Higher Awards are one way we're responding to what students are actually telling us, and making sure the support we offer reflects the reality of their experience.”

Mina Fakhouri, Senior Vice President of Sales APAC EDU & Global Agents at Flywire, said the Fly Higher Awards reflect a shared belief that the student relationship shouldn't end at the transaction.

"At Flywire, our mission is to empower students to achieve their international education dreams by removing the friction from the payment process. We are thrilled to partner with IDP for the 2026 Fly Higher Awards. Over our 8-year partnership, IDP and Flywire have shared a deep commitment to simplifying the study abroad journey through reliable, tech-enabled services. This award program is a fantastic initiative to give back to our mutual students, providing them with crucial financial support when they need it most, while ensuring their tuition payments are handled securely and seamlessly."

Past recipient, Junico Boribor, said the award meant more to him than the dollar figure.

“I am incredibly grateful to both Flywire and IDP for this generous prize.”

“Studying abroad comes with its own set of challenges, especially when living alone for the first time. This prize will help me navigate the upcoming school year with confidence and focus.”

Award recipients will also be invited to share their stories, helping to inspire future students and highlight the real-world impact of financial support on global education journeys.
