12 May 2023As a Senior Translation Coordinator, Asha handles translated content and builds personalised adverts for IDP's international market.
“I began my career as a Data Analyst at IDP Connect back in 2008.

From day one here, I felt comfortable and secure in our friendly work environment. With a fantastic team who were approachable and able to guide me whenever I needed, I was able to develop my skill sets and learn quickly.
In 2009, I got promoted to Senior Data Analyst. However, after completing five wonderful years here, as difficult as it was - I had to take a break from my career to take care of my daughter.
After facing a financial crisis, I decided to pursue my career once again. Luckily, not long after I had made this decision, I received a call from the IDP PX Team informing me of an opening in the Client Care Team. This is how I restarted my career with IDP as a Translations Coordinator in the Client Care Team in Sep 2015. It felt great to be back!
I had moved from the world of data to the world of client servicing. The transition was a smooth one – given the team’s amazing training and help.

Since then, I have been handling translated content, coordinating with about 40 freelancers on a regular basis. I am proud of having been able to deliver niche translated content portals to our range of clients. The demand for translated content over the years has remained steady and it’s been great to help IDP guide students from various countries to their dream study destination. In my time here, I have taken care of over 12 languages and the value that it has and continues to bring our clients and customers is incredible.
I also help my team with the design and dispatch of email newsletter adverts for all our international clients. Over the last year, we’ve noticed an increase in the demand for these adverts because personalisation is the key to a winning reach in today's world. And clients understand this.
It’s interesting to see year on year the various trends in the market and help clients customise their adverts and offerings to cater to those.

I have become a much better multitasker over the last few years – handling various projects. I collaborate with many internal stakeholders like the UX team and the team of Client Account Managers handling client communications. What is especially great is how each member of the team plays such a dynamic role in bringing our products and services to life for our clients.
And in addition to what I learned from my experience here, IDP has also offered me opportunities to develop myself. Recently, I registered in the IDP Data Science lab and completed a few certification courses in Data Visualisation. We have access to a vast number of learning materials and courses and I love using these resources to keep learning something new. Some more certified courses I have completed cover topics such as Tableau, Jira, and Confluence. I look forward to growing and developing as a professional in the years to come at IDP.
And yes, IDP truly is a great place to work in, and the people here are just awesome. The leadership team is easily approachable and friendly. And let’s not forget how beautiful the IDP Digital Campus is – colorful, bright, and I love the greenery that fills up every break area and pathway. We also enjoy the flexibility of work from home days every week, and this is a helpful option especially as a mother of two. I am delighted that my children have the opportunity to see their mother working passionately and hope to inspire them to reach for amazing goals as they grow up.
I once remember my daughter asking me what I do at work.

I recall proudly telling her how IDP helps students achieve their study abroad aspirations. And how our websites have all the information a student needs to know about a university. We have websites in so many different languages, and this makes it simple and easy for students to understand what is available and best suited for them. So, I take care of these translated sites. I even upload images, videos, and logos that make our website look cool and interesting for students. I have the great responsibility of leading our online visitors to pursue their studies at their dream university abroad.
Looking back, I love how IDP has been so great with helping me get back to work by valuing my hard work and recognizing my potential. I am delighted that I am able to find fulfillment as a mother and a professional.
